About
Silver Club

Through the Silver Club, our primary mission is to address loneliness across all age groups, with a particular emphasis on providing support to seniors. The impact of loneliness is profound, impacting not only emotional and psychological well-being but also taking a toll on the physical health of our senior population. For a deeper understanding of the impact social isolation has, we encourage you to explore additional information on our « Impact and Awareness » page.

Silver Club serves as the cornerstone of our foundation, serving as a platform to establish connections among like-minded seniors, ultimately resulting in enduring and meaningful relationships. We firmly believe it is the quality of these individual connections that significantly contributes to our overall well-being, rather than the quantity of social interactions.

Within the Silver Club, we offer a variety of programs, events, and resources tailored to the unique needs and interests of our senior members, creating a vibrant and supportive community where they can find friendship, purpose, and a renewed sense of belonging.

Moreover, we face major challenges globally in a demographic shift, as the pace of population ageing is much faster than in the past:

  • By 2030, 1 in 6 people in the world will be aged 60 years or over. At this time the share of the population aged 60 years and over will increase from 1 billion in 2020 to 1.4 billion.

  • By 2050, the world’s population of people aged 60 years and older will double (2.1 billion).

  • Between 2015 and 2050, the proportion of the world’s population over 60 years will nearly double from 12% to 22%

Thanks!

Thanks to the generous contributions of our first supporters, we had the privilege of hosting our very first Silver Club gathering in Bulle, Switzerland. This marks our inaugural stride towards realizing our overarching mission of combatting loneliness and social isolation by introducing a much-needed positive transformation to local communities in Switzerland.
